Mount Rainier is a massive stratovolcano located 54 miles (87 km) southeast of Seattle in the state of Washington, United States. It is the most topographically prominent mountain in the contiguous United States and the Cascade Volcanic Arc, with a summit elevation of 14,411 ft (4,392 m). Mt. Rainier is considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world, and it is on the Decade Volcano list. Because of its large amount of glacial ice, Mt. Rainier could potentially produce massive lahars that would threaten the whole Puyallup River valley.

I have been photographing the beauty of America and other places around the world for over 30 years. My photographic work has won awards and has been frequently published in books, calendars and magazines such as National Geographic, Time, Popular Photography, Smithsonian Magazine, and Texas Highways. Originally from Sweden, I now reside in the Pacific Northwest (Seattle area). I enjoy many types of photographic subjects and styles, but really love landscape, nature and travel photography. I use Canon full frame mirrorless and DSLRs with a full range of L-series lenses, and touch up my digital captures in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop to recreate the artistic vision I felt and saw when the capture was made, and to make the images ready...

Agree about the contests, one reason that none have been run in my groups. First, never liked voting for myself. Then found out unless you do, the image does not show in the Leader board, thats not right. IF entered, even if there are no votes, it should show.
Inge Johnsson replied:
You are so right. Personally, I wouldn't feel good about winning a contest if I knew I did so by soliciting votes and not really having the most compelling work of art.

F, & Really liked this so Published it in USA ARTIST NEWS an Internet Paper
Inge Johnsson replied:
Thank you so much once more!

Great Mountain Pic hope it wins V
Inge Johnsson replied:
Thanks, Phil. However, it is very hard to win the FAA contests if you are not part of a "voting pact". If you look at some of the people that almost always place in the contests, and check the IP addresses and location of the votes, you will notice that many of the votes are from the same group of people. I still enter works in the contests, but it is seldom about the images and more about who is best at vote solicitation.

This is the Paradise that I want to visit!!! Gorgeous shot, Inge...I truly LOVE it!! f/v
Inge Johnsson replied:
Mount Rainier during wildflower season is my favorite place on Earth. You should visit in August, if you can (varies a little every year of course). Thanks so much for all your nice comments :-)
